San Joaquin Antelope Squirrel (Ammospermophilus nelsoni)
While writing the cast of characters I thought to myself “gee, these people are all really amazing, and maybe I’m an alright person if these are the people I truly love”. (And yes, I just used the word ‘gee’. In all honestly my inner voice is as likely to use the sentence fragment ‘gosh, golly, gee” as it is to say “fuckity fuck fuck steaming pile of fuck fuck fuck”.)
So thanks to all the people I truly love, and thanks especially to Smoothpebble for mentally filtering out the second part of the last line (and all the many other lines that I know make her cringe and check behind her shoulder to make sure she’s alone in the computer room… before she smiles).
